Local Government NSW (LGNSW) has confirmed it will continue its long-standing tradition of convening its Annual Conference in late November. The event, which rotates across New South Wales, is the peak forum for councils to debate motions, shape advocacy positions, and strengthen networks across the state.

Previous conferences have been hosted in locations such as Sydney, Coffs Harbour, Hunter Valley and Penrith, attracting more than 800 councillors and sector stakeholders. Each program combines policy debate with professional development sessions, awards presentations, and networking opportunities.

For 2027, LGNSW is currently sourcing venues capable of accommodating a large-scale plenary, extensive breakout program, and exhibition requirements, alongside social and networking functions.

Destinations and convention centres across NSW are encouraged to engage with LGNSW during 2025 to position for hosting opportunities. Venue capacity, accessibility, and accommodation options are likely to be central to the selection process.
